The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council is the Commonwealth’s accredited business network.
CWEIC is a commercial, not-for-profit membership organisation with an official mandate from the Commonwealth Heads of Government to facilitate trade and investment throughout the 56 Commonwealth member nations. The role of CWEIC is to use the convening power and trusted network of the Commonwealth, which is led by His Majesty The King, to drive trade and investment.

CWEIC’s network includes around 140 business and government Strategic Partners (members), including Standard Chartered, Zenith Bank, Trade & Investment Queensland and the Government of the Maldives from 35 countries and territories. Every two years, CWEIC hosts the Commonwealth Business Forum in association with the host country of The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit 2023
The third Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit (CTIS) was hosted on 27 – 28 November, in London, UK at Glaziers Hall. Building on the success of CTIS 2021 and 2022, the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council was delighted to welcome Heads of Government, senior Ministers, and business leaders from across the Commonwealth for two days of sessions, meetings, and networking.
This Business-to-Government Summit drew participation from across the 56 Commonwealth member nations and provided an opportunity to focus and strategise on key Commonwealth issues at the midpoint between the Commonwealth Business Forum in Kigali in June 2022 and the upcoming CHOGM and Commonwealth Business Forum in Samoa in October 2024.

The 2023 Summit programme focused on the key economic challenges and opportunities facing the Commonwealth this year and identified areas in which the Commonwealth can help finance emerging markets, engage in sustainable business practices, and strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit is developed and hosted by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
