The seventh Commonwealth Youth Games will take place on the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago between 4-11 August 2023. 1000+ athletes and para-athletes between the ages of 14-18 will participate in seven sports managed by 500+ officials.
The Commonwealth Youth Games serve as a vital launching pad for today’s rising stars and future leaders while fostering youth sports across the Commonwealth. The Games were initially held in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2000 and have since occurred every four years.
The 2021 Commonwealth Youth Games, initially awarded to Trinidad and Tobago in June 2019, was postponed due to the pandemic. The events will take place across Trinidad and Tobago, giving Commonwealth countries a diversified view of the twin-island nation and exhibiting a celebration of the nation’s activities.

The event introduced participants to the spirit of volunteering. It highlighted the significant role each volunteer will play in the successful execution of the Commonwealth Youth Games, with more than 1,500 people applying to volunteer at the Youth Games from across the twin islands.
The 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games will be the first to be held since the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III as Head of the Commonwealth and the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth Realms on 8 September 2022.
Upon the reveal of the Trinibago 2023 logo, CGF President, Dame Louise Martin DBE, said:
“I am in awe of the hard work and development that has already been completed to ensure these Games are a fantastic success.
“As shown with the launch of this logo, Trinidad and Tobago are making excellent progress towards staging a fantastic competition and welcoming the Commonwealth to its shores.
“The logo represents everything that Trinidad and Tobago have to offer. From their friendliness to the positive influence that they have on the Commonwealth. I look forward to sharing the Youth Games experience with the islands very soon.”
