Solomon Islands will celebrate Her Majesty the Queen with special celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee on 2-3 June.

The celebrations will begin with a Police Band Drum Beating Ceremony at 8.00 am (9.00 pm UK time) on 2 June in open vehicles along the main road highway from Henderson Police Station to White River, Honiara amidst cheer groups waving flags along the highway at various locations in the city.

Later in the evening, a Thanksgiving Service, Cake Cutting, and Lighting of a Bonfire will take place at the Saint Barnabas Anglican Cathedral, Honiara from 6.30pm (7.30 am UK time) to 9.30 pm (10.30 am UK time) on 2 June. The Service will be limited only to invited guests and dignitaries due to COVID-19 protocols.

On 3 June at 9.00am (10.00 pm UK time), invited guests and other dignitaries will witness the Planting of Jubilee trees at the Honiara Government House by the Acting Governor-General, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice, the Lord Mayor and British High Commissioner after the Jubilee speech by the Acting Governor-General.

The Government House has confirmed that although celebrations will begin on 2 June, the Official Public Holiday will fall on 3 June 2022.
