World Health Day is celebrated annually on 7th April and marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization in 1948.
Each year draws attention to a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world.
This year’s theme – ‘Our Planet, our health‘ – highlights the fact that, even in the midst of a pandemic, a polluted planet increases diseases like cancer, asthma, and heart disease.
In recognition of this, WHO will campaign to focus global attention on the urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy, and to foster a movement to create societies focused on wellbeing.
