We also recap on how ITI has grown to be the leading private training and education provider in Papua New Guinea in a short span of time. Read on to find out ITI ‘s vision, local and overseas course programs, course fees, course duration’s, affiliations & associations, other general information and contact details.

Brief History

The International Training Institute (ITI) was established in March 1999 to provide affordable and quality education for the people of Papua New Guinea.

ITI initially offered certificate courses in computing and had a first intake of 30 students in that year.

From this humble beginning, ITI has grown to a stage where the institute now offers Certificate and Diploma courses in the areas of Business and Information Technology as well as Advanced Diploma program in Accounting, and have been associated with many local and foreign educational bodies and universities.

During the past 19 years ITI has established itself a household name for education and training in PNG.

The enrollment numbers of students surpassed the 1,000 milestone in 2003 whilst in the year 2017 the number of students exceeded 4,000.

Due to demand, the ITI has established branches in Lae – Morobe Province, Warangoi – East New Britian, Kimbe – West New Britian, Buka – Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Alotau – Milne Bay Province, Kiunga – Western Province, Goroka – Eastern Highlands Province, Kavieng – New Ireland, Mount Hagen in Western Highlands and Manus in Manus Province.

In 2018 ITI introduced the new Higher Diploma which is a 2 year diploma program approved by Department of Higher Education Science and Technology (DHERST).  The new higher diploma’s are also recognized for Credits by Pacific Adventist University in PNG.  The new program is also recognized by Australian universities such as Griffith University, University of Sunshine Coast and James Cook University with credits.

ITI as an organization has granted as a Full Institute Accreditation by Ministry for Higher Education, Research Science and Technology and the registration has been renewed in 2018.

During this year we are in the process of relocating Lae campus to and more modern facilities.  We are also in the process of creating more new programs and also improving the existing campuses.
