Applications for Pitch@Palace Commonwealth, a platform showcasing entrepreneurs from Commonwealth countries and connecting them to local and international networks, are open.
As part of the Pitch@Palace Global network, the convention aims to help amplify businesses and build connectivity to key markets and between Commonwealth countries.
Its objectives include promoting the importance of and providing support to entrepreneurial ideas and early-stage businesses in Commonwealth countries, fostering entrepreneurial talent to help innovative businesses boost the local and national economy, and provide inspiration and engagement opportunities to local communities.
Pitch@Palace Commonwealth will take place on April 16, 2018 at St. James’ Palace, as part of the Commonwealth Summit.
Entrepreneurs from the 52 Commonwealth nations will have the opportunity to pitch their business to CEOs, mentors and potential investors and business partners.
The Summit, under the theme `Towards a common future’, will focus on building the Commonwealth’s capacity to respond to global challenges and a deliver a more prosperous, secure and sustainable future for its citizens.
In line with these aims, the theme for Pitch@Palace will be `Human Tech: Benefits for Humanity’ and will address the need to develop a more sustainable and healthier future. Entrepreneurs are invited from a number of relevant sectors, including Biotech and Medtech, education, energy and environment, internet security, consumer goods, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and communications, media and entertainment.
A bootcamp on April 13 will precede the convention and will enable participants to hear from leading industry experts and Pitch@Palace Alumni, who will also provide support and mentoring opportunities.
Participants will pitch to a panel of judges who will decide on the length of pitch suitable for St James’ Palace in three days’ time.
On April 16, entrepreneurs will then pitch to an audience gathered from the areas of technology, media, entrepreneurship and investment, who will vote on the winners.
In addition, the People’s Choice Award will run alongside the main Pitch@Palace event.
All entrepreneurs participating in Pitch@Palace Commonwealth are voted for by the public on a dedicated website and the winner of the public vote will receive an award at the Palace on April 16, 2018.
